We started Painted Possum because we kept running into the same problem — too many options, not enough guidance, and a lot of products that looked good but didn’t perform. So we decided to do something about it. We built a store we’d actually want to shop in ourselves.

We keep our range deliberately manageable. Every product we carry has been selected with care — for quality, value and usefulness to real makers. We don’t stock thousands of options. Instead, we focus on the right ones.

We think about the person on the other end of the order. So when we choose a brush set or a sketchbook, we ask whether we’d reach for it ourselves. If the answer is no, it doesn’t make the cut. This approach keeps the range tight and the quality consistent.

We also believe that good art supplies should be accessible. Fair pricing matters to us — not as a marketing line, but as a genuine commitment. Because creativity shouldn’t require a large budget to get started.
